Fuji, Tokyo & Osaka — Kyoto as a day trip.
Five nights in Tokyo, four in Osaka, three back in Tokyo. You get the Fuji tour, the Enoden coast, Osaka nights and a full Kyoto day without changing hotels for Kyoto. One fewer move than Option A, at about the same per-person price for a group.

Mount Fuji Instagram-Worthy Spots Day Tour
Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda) → Hikawa Clock Shop → Oshino Hakkai village → Lawson Kawaguchiko → Oishi Park. Coach from Tokyo Station or Shinjuku; English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean guides.
- Book the Thursday 20 May departure — weekday traffic is lighter than a weekend.
- Reserve all 6-8 seats together; May coaches can sell out, so book as soon as the date opens.
- Tour is long (roughly 10–11 h). No lunch included; bring cash for the village.
- Includes coach and guide. Oshino Hakkai and the Lawson stop are free; Oishi Park is free.
- Price is Klook’s 25 Oct 2026 “from” rate; May 2027 departures may reprice.
The village & the Lawson
Oshino Hakkai is eight spring-fed ponds at the foot of Fuji, with thatched houses, small bridges and clear water. It is a village walk, not a hike — 60–90 minutes is enough, plus lunch.
Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Station Front is the famous convenience-store frame: the store sits on the north side of Kawaguchiko Station, with Fuji rising directly behind it. The tour stops here; shoot from the opposite pavement, not the road.
If you want more nature
- Oishi Park — lakeside lavender/kochia beds and the classic lake-plus-Fuji view.
- Lake Kawaguchi — walk the north shore after the tour stops; the water is calm in the morning.
- Onsen — if you want one, take a local day bath near Kawaguchiko Station (budget ~¥1,000; unverified — check locally).
Why this is the value pick
What you gain
- All three cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto (day trip).
- Fuji tour, Oshino Hakkai village and the Lawson photo.
- Enoden coast ride at Kamakura/Enoshima.
- Four Osaka nights — enough for a slow day and a Kyoto day.
- No Kyoto hotel move; last three nights back in Tokyo.
What you give up
- No Kyoto night — no Gion at 22:00 or a quiet Kyoto morning.
- One long day: Osaka → Kyoto → Osaka (about 1 h each way).
- Two shinkansen rides (Tokyo–Osaka, Osaka–Tokyo) are the single biggest transport line.
If Kyoto at night matters more than the extra move, take Option A — at 6-8 travellers it costs about the same per person as B, within roughly Rp 70k.
The full loop — Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto.
Five Tokyo nights, three Osaka nights, two Kyoto nights, then two final Tokyo nights. The most complete version: Kyoto gets an evening and a morning, and you still end at Haneda with a buffer.

Fuji plan
Same tour, same village, same Lawson
The Klook day tour fits before the Kansai leg: do it on 20 May from Tokyo, then take the shinkansen to Osaka on 22 May.
- Arakurayama Sengen Park / Chureito Pagoda
- Hikawa Clock Shop “stairway to Fuji” street
- Oshino Hakkai spring village
- Lawson Kawaguchiko Station Front
- Oishi Park, Lake Kawaguchi
Make the day easier
- Choose the Shinjuku meeting point if you are staying in Shinjuku; Tokyo Station is easier from a Tokyo Station hotel.
- Bring a light jacket: Kawaguchiko is cooler than Tokyo, even in May.
- Cash for lunch and any shrine/onsen extras; card acceptance is patchy in the village.
- Do not schedule anything fixed for the evening — return time depends on traffic.
Tokyo & Fuji only — no Kansai.
Six Tokyo nights, one Fuji-view house night at Kawaguchiko, five final Tokyo nights. No shinkansen, no Osaka, no Kyoto. This is the version that protects the budget and gives Fuji a sunrise instead of a day-tour window.

Fuji plan — overnight version
Bus out, sleep under Fuji, bus back
23 May: Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal → Kawaguchiko Station, ¥2,200 one way (about 2 h). Drop bags, walk the lake, take the local sightseeing bus to Oshino Hakkai and the Lawson. Sleep at the Mt. Fuji View House.
24 May: early Lawson photo (before tour buses), Oshino Hakkai before the crowds, onsen, then bus back to Shinjuku ¥2,200.
- Highway bus: Fujikyu Bus / Keio Bus, Shinjuku ↔ Kawaguchiko, ¥2,200 each way per person.
- Local Kawaguchiko sightseeing bus: budget ~¥1,500 per person for the day (verify pass options at the station).
- Mt. Fuji View House: 3 bedrooms, 9 beds, 1.5 baths, terrace and Fuji view, 4.78 (301 reviews); whole house ≈ Rp 5.16M for the night.
- No organised tour: you miss Chureito/Hikawa, but the village and Lawson are the two wish-list items.
What to check before booking
- Bus seats for May 2027 are not on sale yet (usually ~3 months ahead). Book as soon as the window opens.
- Ask the Mt. Fuji View House host about luggage storage before check-in and after check-out.
- Kawaguchiko is cooler and can be cloudier than Tokyo; keep the Fuji morning flexible.
- Day onsen near the station: budget ~¥1,000, unverified.
Why C is the budget winner
What you keep
- Tokyo at depth: Asakusa, Ueno, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Odaiba, Akihabara.
- Fuji village + Lawson + lake, with a sunrise instead of a tour schedule.
- Enoden coast day at Kamakura/Enoshima (still included).
- A whole Fuji-view house for the group, with space to spread out.
What you lose
- No Osaka, no Kyoto, no Kansai food crawl.
- No Chureito Pagoda/Hikawa Clock Shop unless you add a local bus/taxi.
- Two Tokyo home check-ins instead of one long stay (or ask the first host to store bags).
If this is a once-in-a-decade Japan trip, B is worth the extra ~Rp 3.3M per person. If the budget is hard, C is the honest choice.

How to get around — passes vs singles
| Ticket / pass | Price (per person) | Where it works | Verdict for this trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keikyu Airport Line | ≈¥330 | HND arrivals; about 15 min to Shinagawa | Buy a single/IC. Cheapest airport transfer. Use |
| Tokyo Subway Ticket | 24 h ¥1,000 · 48 h ¥1,500 · 72 h ¥2,000 | All Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines | 72 h pays off at ~7 rides over 3 days. Buy 72 h |
| Odakyu Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass | ¥1,640 | Shinjuku round trip + Odakyu + Enoden unlimited | Separate: ~¥1,240 Odakyu return + ¥800 Enoden day = ¥2,040. Saves ~¥400 |
| Enoden 1-day “Noriorikun” | ¥800 | Enoden only | Only if you are not using the Odakyu pass. Skip with the pass |
| Osaka Amazing Pass | ¥2,500 / ¥3,300 | Osaka Metro + city bus + 35+ attractions | One Osaka Castle + Umeda Sky + cruise already beats ¥2,500. Buy 1-day (A) / 2-day (B) |
| JR Pass 7-day | ¥50,000 online · ¥53,000 overseas | JR lines nationwide, including shinkansen (not Nozomi without supplement) | Your JR long-distance total is ~¥29,470 (A) to ¥30,600 (B). Do not buy |
| Kansai Thru Pass | Discontinued | Former private-rail/subway pass | Do not plan around it. Its replacement is a 2026 product; use ICOCA/singles. Skip |
| Shinkansen singles | Tokyo–Shin-Osaka ¥14,720 · Kyoto–Tokyo ¥14,170 · Osaka–Kyoto ¥580 | Tokaido shinkansen + JR Kyoto Line | Point-to-point is cheaper than any JR Pass here. Buy singles |
| Fuji highway bus | ¥2,200 each way | Option C overnight / DIY Fuji | Cheaper than the Fuji Excursion train. Use for C |
| Suica / ICOCA | Pay as you go | Everything not covered by a pass | Keep one IC card for JR, private rail, buses and konbini. Essential |
Sticker-price warning: the JR Pass does not pay off
The 7-day ordinary JR Pass is ¥50,000 (¥53,000 if bought overseas). Your longest JR legs are Tokyo–Shin-Osaka ¥14,720 and Kyoto–Tokyo ¥14,170, plus Osaka–Kyoto ¥580. Option A’s JR total is about ¥29,470; Option B’s is ¥30,600. Either way the pass costs ¥19,400–20,500 more. The 14-day pass (¥80,000) is even worse. The pass also does not cover the Odakyu/Enoden, Osaka Metro, or the Fuji bus.
Per-person budget at a glance
What the totals include
Assumptions
- Food: ¥3,500 per person per day — konbini breakfast, casual lunch, ramen/teishoku dinner.
- Entries/misc: ¥1,500 per person per day — temples, a museum, lockers, local buses.
- Accommodation: whole-home Airbnb totals for 8-guest properties on the dates searched; the per-person share is that total ÷ group size.
- Transport: the day-by-day table sums per person, including the Fuji tour in A/B. Each traveller pays it.
- Flights: IDR 7.12M per person return, as given; multiply by the group size.
- Group sizing: 6, 7 or 8. Flights, transport and food stay the same per person; the stay share falls as the group grows.
- Stay quotes: whole-home totals are Airbnb's price for 8 guests. A 6- or 7-person group is treated as paying the same whole-home price; some hosts may charge less, but that is not assumed.
- Flight seats: the same IDR 7.12M per-person fare is assumed for 6-8 seats. Airlines may price a group differently; recheck before booking.
- FX: 1 JPY = 115.48 IDR (ECB, 23 Oct 2026).
What is not included
- Shopping, souvenirs, alcohol, cafés beyond the food budget.
- Travel insurance, eSIM, airport meals.
- Private airport van or taxi — the plan assumes trains and IC cards for all 8.
- Fuji tour lunch and any optional entry/onsen.
- Price changes between Oct 2026 and May 2027.
- Anything that requires a booking — none has been made.
If an Airbnb disappears: fall back to 3-4 twin rooms at a business hotel at the same station (Toyoko Inn, Sotetsu Fresa Inn); hotels charge per room, not per person, and those are not priced here.
